OLYMPIC
For the first time
the International Carrom Federation has put up 4 carrom boards
for the demonstration in Olympic Village at Athens. Many senior Sports officials
and players have enjoyed Carrom for the first
time
Progress of CARROM
Until 1956 Carrom was played in different
parts of India, Pakistan,
Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Nepal
etc. with
different rules.
1956
Formation of the All
India Carrom Federation
First time a national Carrom Federation
was established
in India and uniform rules were
adopted.
Late seventies and
eightees
Carrom federations were established in
several countries
of Asia and Europe and tournaments were
organised.
1988
International Carrom
Federation was established in Madras.
1989
First ICF Cup was organised in
Heidelberg, Germany
1990
International Invitation Tournament was
held in Dubai
1991
2nd Congress of the
International carrom Federation
at Male, Maldives adopted
the Official Laws of Carrom.
Decision to establish Continental
Confederations.
